Let's Talk About Parenting

This panel of moms are all raising neurodivergent children, and they are ready to share their personal stories and ideas. Join the conversation in-person and streaming live. 

 Dawn-Marie Solais will be moderating and will be joined by Florencia Ardon, LaToya Pryce, Debby Orlando, Doris Adams, Kelly Guthrie, and Claudia Garcia.

Learn about DIRFloortime, with Jackie Bartell, M.Ed. and Colette Ryan. It's a therapy designed for children and adults with disabilities from two local practitioners.

Visions Federal Credit Union will be offering financial education and one-on-one consulting. Understanding your money, setting up trusts, and more will be part of the offering.

LGBTQI+ Room is where you can meet others from this intersectional community, talk about what's hard, what's hopeful, and what supports are available.

11:00-Noon

The American Suicide Prevention Foundation will have representatives on hand to explain what the organization does, how you can be involved, and how you can be helped.

Welcome to the Floor, with Jackie Bartell, M.Ed. and Colette Ryan. Learn about DIRFloortime, a specialized therapy designed for children and adults.

Parenting Conversations will be a room open for anyone who wants to meet and talk with other area parents.

The Sibling Room will be open to people who want to talk about what it's like to be a sibling who is neurodivergent or who is the sibling of a neurodivergent person.

The Quiet Room has been designed for when you want to be quiet for a bit. Gently lit and minimally decorated, this room will help lower the stimulation of the day.

A Virtual Taste will be a room where you can watch some selections from our virtual ticket while you relax and regroup.

Education: How it is. How it Should be.

Whether we are talking pre-school or post-doc, neurodivergent people, their parents, and their caregivers are seeking educational opportunities that understand, support, include, and accommodate the unique needs of all students. Often, educational institutions do not have up-to-date knowledge or ability to truly include and accommodate the neurodivergent student. Dawn-Marie Solais will moderate this panel of educator: Laurie Ackles, Florencia (Flor) Ardon, Michael Strong, Christine Harkness, and Ilene Monico.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: We Exist and We're Worth It

Communities, Companies, and Organizations are all working to figure out what it means to include and accommodate a richly diverse population and workforce, but until recently, neurodiversity has been left out of the conversation. Join this panel of  individuals working to change that, and let's consider some of the ways equity and inclusion work best -- 

for everyone.

LaToya Pryce will moderate this panel that includes Teresa Thomas, Ron Crawford, Kendra Evans, and Mike Williston.

Doris and Brian Adams: A Life of Advocacy Join them as they share

some of the triumphs and trials from his amazing life story.

Allyson Aylesworth will be leading an inter-faith conversation about the values, culture and practical details of becoming inclusive places of worship.

Dawn-Marie Solais and guests will be leading a discussion on impediments to mental and physical health care.

Dr Christine Harkness will be discussing how to incorporate DIRFlootime concepts into a school setting and sharing her success helping schools do just that.

Maggie Henry is the Broome/Tioga Chairmen for American Suicide Prevention Foundation. Learn about the important work of this organization and how you can get involved.

Participants on this panel will add their thoughts, passions, and projects to a discussion about ways we can all make things better for the neurodivergent community and beyond. Moderated by Dawn-Marie Solais, this panel will include Teresa Thomas, Ron Crawford, Michael Williston, Andrew Eddy, Mary Doherty, and Sonja Duric.

Live Breakout Sessions

Michael Strong, Star Peterson, Inarm Osborn, and Moms on the Spectrum podcasters Kelly and Claudia will each be doing a live virtual breakout session on the respective topics of Education, Transitioning to Adulthood, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Employment tech, and Parenting. These will be video meetings and will be designed to be conversational. Your constructive input will be welcomed.

Prerecorded Program

Available via the virtual ticket only, more than 30 hours of content from many of our speakers, a few of whom are pictured here. Topics include hypermobility, ADHD, intersectionality, therapy, DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion), medicine, tech, music, parenting, architecture, and more.
